La Porte de l’Enfer - The Gates of Hell
Made by French sculptor Auguste Rodin. This piece depicts the first part of Dante Alighieri’s Divine Comedy, ”The Inferno”. It is 6 meters in height, 4 meters in width and 1 meter deep, and contains 180 figures.
Rodin worked on this piece for 37 years until the time of his death.
